Ingeniux Acquires Simply XML Word-based DITA Authoring
Ingeniux Corporation, a leading provider of web content management and digital experience software, has acquired Simply XML, whose Microsoft Word™ based authoring solution provides industry leading ease of use for authoring structured content like XML and DITA. The acquisition enables Ingeniux to add new capabilities to its platform, providing customers with an end-to-end solution for authoring structured content and incorporating it into the digital publishing process.
Simply XML's innovative technology and extensive expertise integrating with the Microsoft ecosystem complements Ingeniux's existing strengths and adds a new dimension to the Ingeniux platform. Simply XML’s groundbreaking Word to XML technology allows subject matter experts to author in DITA and XML without having to learn XML structuring languages, freeing them to focus on writing great content while actively participating in the technical documentation process.
“With this acquisition we continue to execute on our goal of combining structured content authoring with ease-of-use to unlock the vast potential of enterprise content,” said Jim Edmunds, CEO of Ingeniux. “When Doug Gorman founded Simply XML a decade ago, he articulated a vision for expanding structured content authoring beyond the confines of technical authoring teams and that vision very much anticipated the current direction of the content management market.”
Ingeniux will continue to fully support Simply XML customers who use the stand-alone Content Mapper™ application. In addition, Ingeniux has fully integrated Content Mapper functionality into its digital experience platform. Ingeniux customers who author in XML and DITA will now have access to powerful new authoring features in the platform, enhancing the benefits they’re already leveraging from robust content re-use, metadata, and XML and DITA publishing features.
"We're thrilled to join forces with Ingeniux and help advance the future of structured authoring and technical content publishing," said Bobby Gorman, CEO of Simply XML. "Together, we'll be able to deliver a best-in-class solution that helps organizations more efficiently create, manage, and deliver enterprise content across all channels."
The acquisition of Simply XML is the latest example of Ingeniux's commitment to expanding its offerings and providing customers with the most comprehensive and innovative solutions for web content management, digital experience, and technical content publishing. The acquisition also includes Simply XML's team of experts, who will join Ingeniux and continue to develop and support the Simply XML product line and customer base.
